High performance provides bold new focus for Mitie
An exciting commitment to elevating the performance of the built environment is at the heart of Mitie’s newly revealed corporate narrative.
With 72,000 colleagues working across the public and private sectors, and delivery that touches offices, hospitals, prisons, Government buildings, critical infrastructure and more, Mitie has a huge impact on a range of places.
Following the launch of Mitie’s Facilities Transformation strategy in October 2023, the company has reaffirmed its commitment to technology, sustainability and supporting local communities. The focus is on pushing boundaries to create more value and better places for the people and communities that depend upon them.
This is now reflected in how we describe our dedication and promise to helping customers embrace tomorrow: The future of high-performing places.
To support this focus, four brand pillars will make sure Mitie’s commitment remains on track.
The pillars are:
- We bring our best, every time: We go above and beyond to get the job done because we care about every interaction.
- We’re transforming places: Using our best-in-class technology and data capabilities we deliver intelligent, efficient and sustainable services that transform places.
- We’re investing in your success: We’re your strategic partner; we help you navigate risk, spot opportunities and turn your overheads into assets.
- We’re serving our local communities: We care about the communities we work in because we’re locals. That’s why we’re so committed to keeping them safe and hygienic and making them the best they can be.
Mitie’s Chief Executive Officer, Phil Bentley, said: “Our new narrative highlights our dedication to creating better places and thriving communities, which has always been at the core of our operations. As the built environment continues to evolve, we want to be at the forefront of that change. We’re creating exceptional places to delight our customers and those who use them. Mitie is the future of high-performing places.”
The narrative update was led by Mitie’s Chief Marketing Officer, Maria Winn.
Maria and the project team set out to define how the organisation unlocks places’ potential.
Maria said: “At Mitie we practice what we preach. For example, we always bring our best thanks to Mitie’s self-delivery model, which makes sure services are delivered by in-house specialists for greater efficiency and control. Our £160m technology investment enables us to transform places through a data-driven approach. We invest in our customers’ success with projects ranging from initiatives to drive net zero operations to deploying AI for greater efficiency and value. And we’re committed to creating safer communities; our collaboration with WalkSafe, the leading personal safety app, keeps people and streets safe. It’s an exciting time for our organisation, brand and customers – we’re welcoming the future of high-performing places together.”
People-driven purpose
We also refreshed Mitie’s purpose to demonstrate the impact and importance of our work to the communities we serve.
After all, in hospitals and transport hubs, across essential infrastructure and communication networks – wherever it matters, Mitie is there, providing services that keep society running.
This is captured in: Better places, thriving communities.
Every day, our work touches the lives of over 7.5million people, so our purpose will inspire colleagues and celebrate the role we play in the fabric of society, doing our bit to improve people’s lives.
Striking visuals
The new positioning and purpose are complemented by a bold new visual identity, which reflects the flowing threads that connect people to the places they depend on, and in which Mitie plays a definitive role.
Maria added: “The last major revision of our positioning, purpose and visual identity was back in 2018. Since then, Mitie’s focus has shifted from facilities management to facilities transformation. We’re proud that people and places are benefitting from this approach, so it was important to reflect this in our exciting new narrative and design.”
