Mitie races ahead with new BMW Group contracts
- Mitie expands its relationship with BMW Group, securing a new engineering and energy contract and an extension to its existing cleaning contract
- Expansion follows a 10-year partnership with BMW Group, the premium vehicle manufacturer
- The two contracts will cover a total of 11 sites across the UK and Ireland, including manufacturing plants
Mitie has expanded its service offering for BMW Group with a new five-year engineering and energy contract following a competitive tender. The UK’s leading facilities management provider has also secured a five-year extension of its cleaning and landscaping contract with the premium car manufacturer. This double contract win strengthens Mitie’s FM market-leading position in the automotive sector.
Mitie’s Engineering division will provide maintenance services on the mechanical and electrical systems at BMW Group’s UK manufacturing locations in Swindon, Oxford and Hams Hall, near Birmingham. These new services will deliver critical maintenance to ensure resilience and allow BMW Group to operate with maximal uptime at its facilities.
The energy management services included as part of the new contract, will see teams from both Mitie and BMW Group partner to conduct surveys of all 11 sites to identify ways to reduce energy consumption. A range of measures will be implemented to reduce carbon emissions and improve the sustainability of buildings. With collaboration a key theme of the contract, Mitie will also pioneer energy workshops to bring employees together to share energy-saving knowledge across the sites.
Mitie will build on a 10-year partnership to provide cleaning and landscaping services across 11 key locations in the UK and Ireland, including BMW Group’s UK commercial headquarters in Farnborough and its BMW and MINI showrooms in Park Lane, London. The span of services ranges from cleaning of both offices and manufacturing sites, to landscaping and window cleaning.
Carlo Alloni, Managing Director, Technical Services and Integrated Facilities Management, Mitie, said:
“Over the past decade, we have built an invaluable partnership with BMW Group through our successful cleaning contract. I am very proud to see our service offering develop to include exciting new engineering and energy services. We are looking forward to combining our best-in-class services to boost customer experience.”
